Doris J. Bolduc, 81, of 14 Hills Ridge Road, Greene, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn, with her husband and goddaughter by her side. She was born in Auburn on December 30, 1933, the daughter of Henry and Laura (Thibault) Arpin. Educated in Auburn schools, she was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of ’53. She was known as a “peppy majorette” at both Walton and ELHS. After high school she went to work in the retail business, starting out at Bel Shops, eventually moving to T. J. Murphy Furs, working in sales and as a buyer. …

Jeannine E. Dionne, 95, of 100 Campus Avenue, Lewiston, and formerly of 101 Walnut Street, died Sunday, January 25, 2015, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn. Born in Lewiston on July 14, 1919, she was the daughter of Rosario and Jeannette Martin Dionne. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School and the Auburn School of Commerce. She was employed for many years as a secretary for the Lewiston Police Department. A member of Ss. Peter & Paul Basilica, Prince of Peace Parish, she enjoyed embroidery and other crafts, but her greatest joy came for caring for others, especially her father,  and later her brother, the Rev. Martin Dionne, O.P., during their long illnesses. …

Paul S. Nadeau, 1940 - 2015

Paul S. Nadeau, 74, formerly of 178 Cook St.  Auburn, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Born in Lewiston on August 7, 1940, he was the son of Hubert J. Nadeau Sr. and Sybil Saucier. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’58. While participating in a Nadeau family tradition, figure skating with the LA Skating Club, he met Cecile Comeau. They were married on November 11, 1960, and made their home in Auburn. Later that year, Paul attended meat cutting school in Ohio, and had a career in meat cutting for over fifty years. …

John D. Chester, 1930 - 2015

John D. Chester, 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16th at Clover Manor in Auburn.  He was born in Queens, NY on November 11, 1930, the son of William F. and Jeannette Dowden Chester.  As a boy, John enjoyed many summers staying with his Aunt Emma and Uncle Bill Fischer and cousins in Lake Hapatcong, NJ.  He graduated from Arlington Academy, Arlington, VT in 1948.  John served four years with the USAF 20th Air Division and was a B-29 bomber aircraft crew member.  He is a Korean War Veteran and received the Korean War Service Medal and 5 battle stars. John married Jane Teresa Mullen on April 24

Bertrand G. Chenard, 87, of 93 Summit Avenue, Lewiston, passed away quietly on January 14, 2015 at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn. Bertrand was born in Lewiston on December 30, 1927, the son of Henri and Irma Dutil Chenard. He went to school in Lewiston. Bert proudly served in the U.S. Army and on November 10th, 2014, he was presented with the World War II Victory Medal and The Army of Occupation Germany Medal. He married Jeannette C. Cote on October 24, 1953. A member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish, he also belonged to Holy Cross Senior Citizens and the Mid-Maine Motorcycle Association. …

Gerard R. Fecteau, 81, of 108 Howe Street, Auburn, Passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Born in Lewiston on June 9, 1933, he was the son of Albert and Irene Valliere Fecteau. Gerry grew up in New Auburn where he also attended Catholic schools.  He worked on many farms and in the textile mills prior to serving with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Upon returning from the war, he married the former Geraldine T. Martin on June 30, 1955. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years on June 6, 2014, 7 months prior to his own passing. …

Eva Louise Seely Bouvier, 89, of 71 Aquamarine Court, Auburn, died Friday, January 9, 2015, at the Clover Manor in Auburn. She was born in Northampton, MA, on December 23, 1925, the daughter of William F. and Eva L. Gove Seely. Her formative years were spent in Northampton, attending local schools and graduating from Northampton High School. She attended and graduated from Smith College, also located in Northampton, in 1948 with a BA degree and a major in music, which would be her major interest in later life. While employed as a counselor at a Girl Scout camp in the summer months, she met her life long friend Margaret and both moved to New York city in 1949. …

Lorraine C. Parker, 82, of 176 Summer Street, Auburn, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at her home. Born in Auburn on October 14, 1932, she was the daughter of Dolor and Ida Fogg Gagnon. She was educated in local schools, and worked as a packer and supervisor in the shoe industry until her retirement at age 65. On May 7, 1965, she married Arthur P. Parker. Mr. Parker passed away on January 15, 2011. Lorraine was a colon cancer survivor, and facing the disease led her to cherish time spent with her family. She also enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Survivors include a daughter, Dolores Smith of Sanford, NC, daughter-in-law Robin Jacobsen of Auburn, two sisters, Lucille and husband Dean Wiers of Lewiston, and Edna Karnes of Houlton, five grandchildren; Dolor Smith Jr. and life partner Elizabeth Conway, Season Myers and husband Jim, Thomas Donaghy, Jamie Smith and significant other Sarah Hyde, and Alexis Smith, four great-grandchildren; Dolor Smith III and significant other Emily Banville, Noah Smith, Hayley Smith, and Dakota Myers, and several nieces and nephews. …

Joan Pratt Cote died Wednesday, January 7th at St. Mary's D'Youville Pavilion.  She was born Joan Beverley Pratt in Worcester, Massachusetts on June 19, 1931, the only child of Manfred C. and Gladys (Thompson) Pratt of Wilton, Maine.  She grew up in Brunswick and later Auburn, Maine.  After graduating from Edward Little High School in 1949, she attended the school of nursing associated with C.M.G. Hospital (now CMMC) and became a registered nurse.  She worked as an obstetrical nurse for several years at Mass General Hospital in Boston. Joan married Paul A. Cote of Lewiston in 1952 and lived with him in Boston until 1955, when they moved back to Lewiston to pursue his legal career.  …

Antonin A. Dumais, 97, of 35 Irwin Street, Lewiston, died Sunday, January 4, 2015, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn. Born in Chisholm on May 10, 1917, he was the son of Thomas and Alma Godin Dumais. On September 2, 1940, he married the former Noella Brillant Dumais. Mrs. Dumais passed away on October 21, 2005. He was employed for many years as a loom fixer, working for the Continental Mill and Bates Fabrics. Following his retirement in 1982, he worked part-time as a delivery driver for Rowe Auburn. In his later years, he enjoyed his vegetable garden, jigsaw puzzles, and especially spending time with his great-grandson, Derek. …

Jeanne M. Theriault, 1921 - 2014

Jeanne M. Theriault, 93, of Lewiston, died December 22, 2014,  at the d’Youville Pavilion, after a long illness. Born on April 4th, 1921 in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Mrs. Alice Michaud and Mr. Eugène Thériault. In 1953, she moved to Lewiston to assist her cousin at Morneau's Variety store. She later worked at St. Mary’s Hospital as a Certified Nurse’s Aide.
