Lucien A.A. Boisvert, 58, of 28 Union Street, Lewiston, died Friday, March 22, 2013, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn. Born in Lewiston on October 5, 1954, he was the son of Joseph and Lucille Bechard Boisvert. Educated in Lewiston schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’72. Employed for many years in the local shoe industry, he was an avid football fan, especially the Cowboys, and loved spending time at his friend Leo’s camp. Survivors include two brothers, Harvey and wife Anne of Lewiston, and Roger and longtime companion Carliss Pelletier of Lewiston. …

Claire T. Langelier, 84, of Portland, formerly of Lewiston and Port St. Lucie, FL, passed away in Portland on March 15, 2013. She was surrounded by her family and being held by her beloved husband of 64 years. She was born in Lewiston on January 3, 1929, the daughter of Henry and Bernadette Plante Croteau. Claire grew up in Lewiston, graduating from Lewiston High School, Class of ‘48. She married Lionel Langelier on June 25, 1949. Together they owned and operated first a variety store followed by restaurants in Lewiston, the last one being Nel's Steer House. As well as a hard working entrepreneur, Claire was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt. …

Sylvia Lifshitz, 91, formerly of Lewiston, died Monday, March 11, 2013, at the Hearthstone Alzheimer's Care facility in New York City, where she had been a resident for the past 11 years. Born in Lewiston on November 6, 1921, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ethel Richelson Lifshitz.  Educated locally, she went to work for a relief organization in Europe following World War II and lived in Germany for several years. During those years she travelled all over Europe, and developed a life long love of skiing and mushroom-hunting. In the early 1950’s she returned to the states, living at first in Newark, NJ, and later in Jackson Heights, Queens. …

Richard R. Morin, 88, of 55 Baird Avenue, Lewiston, died Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn. Born in Lewiston on July 24, 1924, he was the son of Pierre and Edna Brochu Morin. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’42, and also graduated from Acme Business School. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater. Following the war, he returned to Lewiston and married the former Lorraine Tardif, who passed away on December 26, 2003. He worked for several years at New England Furniture Company and Northern Utilities, and in 1961 he was hired as an Assistant Manager at Ste. …

Jacqueline F. Lajoie, 80, formerly of 91 Fairlawn Avenue, Lewiston, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston, where she had been a resident since November. Our beloved Jackie has moved on to be with God, whom she loved so dearly. She will reunite with family members and friends that have gone before her, whom she loved and nurtured during the times before their passing. 

Born in Lewiston on July 11, 1932, she was the daughter of Napoleon and Yvonne Vachon Lajoie. Educated in local schools, she worked for many years as a cook at Campus Cuisine.

Rev. Msgr. Paul D. Gleason, 91, of the Bishop Peterson’s Residence, Manchester, NH, died in Manchester on Wednesday, February 27, 2013. Born May 9, 1921 in Bangor, Maine, he was the son of Irving J. and Roselle C. (Herlihy) Gleason. He attended St. John School and John Bapst High School in Bangor, Maine and graduated from Holy Cross College in 1943. He studied theology at St. Augustine Seminary, Toronto, Canada. Monsignor was ordained to the priesthood in Portland, Maine by Bishop Daniel J. Feeney on May 31, 1947. He was Assistant Pastor of St. Joseph Parish in Lewiston, Maine from 1947-1961, Pastor of St. …
