Gerard D. Cloutier, 1918 - 2013

Gerard D. Cloutier, 94, of Lewiston passed away peacefully Friday morning, May 10, 2013 at the home of his son, Donald where he has resided for the past year and a half. He was born in Lewiston, November 19, 1918, son of Dominique W. and Emelia (Beliveau) Cloutier. He married the love of his life Therese N. Nadeau on June 26, 1948 at SS Peter & Paul Church. 

He was a 1938 graduate of Lewiston High School and a graduate of Acme Business School. He was a military veteran having served his country in the Army during World War II in the South Pacific from 1941-1945 in the 43rd Division. …

Jane T. Chester, 1931 - 2013

Jane T. Chester, 82, passed away Thursday, May 23rd at Montello Manor in Lewiston, surrounded by family.  She was born in Calais, Maine on May 3rd, 1931, the daughter of Wilfred and Katherine Murphy Mullen.  Jane was a registered nurse and graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Portland.  She was a delivery room supervisor and was employed at Mercy Hospital in Portland, Knox County General Hospital in Rockland, Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta and Bath Memorial Hospital in Bath, as well as St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, N.J.  Jane was also a professional piano player and was a member of Jeff Grosser’s Ragtime Razcals of New England for three years.  …

Jacqueline Y. Willard, 87, formerly of 68 Summer Street, Lewiston, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at the d’Youville Pavilion, where she had been a resident for the past few years. Born in Lewiston on June 16, 1925, she was the daughter of Rosaire and Claire Martineau. Educated locally, she married Arthur L. Willard on April 10, 1948. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, and also worked part-time at Bradlees in Lewiston, at the Jordan School cafeteria, and for several years owned and operated the Four Seasons Gift Shop in Stonington. She was a great cook, enjoyed sewing, doll collecting, and attending flea markets with her husband. …

Janice May Paschal, 1948 - 2013

Janice May Paschal, 64, passed away under the care of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice on May 22, 2013, after a many month battle with cancer. Janice was born in Boston, MA, on July 20, 1948. She has resided in Maine since 1963, mostly in the Lewiston-Auburn area. Janice is survived by a daughter, Kimberly and husband Matt McGhee of Wakefield, MA, a son, Ralph Nadeau of Saco, ME, and a brother, Alfred and wife Joyce of Charles Town, WV. Also surviving are several grandchildren, nieces, special friends Anand and Cherie Seth of North Reading, MA, and many friends and aquaintances in the Lewiston-Auburn area. …

John P. Spencer Jr., 1971 - 2012

 John P. Spencer Jr., 41, of Litchfield, died unexpectedly on December 30, 2012. Born on July 23, 1971, he was the son of John P. Spencer Sr. and Linda Kell Spencer Voisine. Educated locally, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’91, where he played football and lacrosse. He loved the outdoors, and worked outside doing construction for many years. He eventually got his truck drivers license, learning from his father. He was a joyous person to be around, and there was never a dull moment with John. He put adventure into everything he did, from riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, playing in a men’s football league, to racing at Oxford Plains Speedway, where he was named 2007 Rookie of the Year. …

Florence E. Roy Dinsmore, 1906 - 2013

Florence E. Roy Dinsmore, 107, died May 12, 2013, at Schooner Estates in Auburn. Born in Bowdoin on April 2, 1906, she was the daughter of Francois and Azilda Bombardier Lachapelle. The family moved to Taunton, MA, where she worked at Wheaton College. She married Romeo E. Roy in 1926 in Taunton and returned to Lewiston. Mr. Roy passed in July of 1954. In 1959, Florence married Louis Dinsmore of Lisbon. Mr. Dinsmore passed away in 1971. Florence worked as a mender in the W.S. Libbey Mill for many years, and also worked at the Worumbo Mill in Lisbon. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, and also attended Mass at the Chapel of Maison Marcotte. …

Walter Cloutier Jr., 1925 - 2013

Walter Cloutier Jr., 87, of 8 Orchard Circle, Lewiston, died Monday, May 6, 2013, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice Services in Auburn. He was born in Lewiston on November 9, 1925, the son of Walter and Alice Dumont Cloutier. Educated locally, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’43, and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946 as a Flight Engineer, stationed in the Pacific Theater. On May 10, 1947, he married the former Lillian Cote. Walter was formerly associated with Leavitt & Parris Inc. of Lewiston and Portland, retiring as President in 1987. …
