Rolande Griffin, 81, of Lewiston, died Saturday, July 13, 2013, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice Services in Auburn, surrounded by her family.  Born in Saint Samuel, Canada, on May 2, 1932, she was the daughter of Arthur and Aldina Talbot Montambeault.  After the death of her parents, she was brought to Lewiston at age seven and raised at St. Joseph’s Orphanage (formerly the Marcotte Home).  On November 25, 1950, she married Lionel H. Riendeau of Brunswick, who passed away in 1962.  On June 17, 1967, she married her beloved second husband, Martin Griffin, of Quincy, Massachusetts.  …

 Joseph E. “Pete” Sarrazin, 88, of Meadowview in Lewiston, passed away following a short illness on Wednesday, July 10th, 2013, at The Hospice House in Auburn with his loving wife and family by his side. He was born in Greene on May 5, 1925, the son of Arthur and Albina Lamothe Sarrazin. He was a hardworking man all his life, working at various car dealerships in the parts department. In his younger years he enjoyed roller-skating; this is how he met the love of his life, Lorraine Leclerc, whom he was married to for 67 years.  Together they raised three children, as the children were growing up they spent many years at the family camp in Topsfield and camping on Sebago Lake. …

Leo M. Renaud, 91, formerly of 68 Laurier Street, Lewiston, died Thursday, July 11, 2013, at Sunnybrook Village in Brunswick, where he had been a resident for the past year and a half. Born in Lewiston on June 17, 1922, he was the son of Albert and Cesarie Bechard Renaud. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’41. A veteran of World War II, he served as an aircraft armorer in the Army Air Corps for 3 years, including 18 months in Foggio, Italy, with the 347th Bomber Squadron of the 99th Bombardment Group, where he armed and maintained B17 Bombers. …

Rolande V. Saucier, 94, formerly of Lewiston, died Monday, July 8, 2013, at Orono Commons.  She was born in Van Buren on December 19, 1918, the daughter of Marc O. and Marguerite (Ouellette) Bosse.  She moved to Lewiston at an early age and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1938.  Rolande married Gerald “Gidi” Saucier in April of 1942 in East Hartford, Connecticut, where she had worked at Pratt Whitney in support of the war effort.  Upon returning to Lewiston, she devoted her time to being a wife and mother, homemaking at 5 Robert Ave. and summering for 36 years at Tacoma Lake.  …

Dorilda A. Cyr, 93, formerly of 36 Hilltop Avenue, Lewiston, died Friday June 28, 2013, at Schooner Estates in Auburn, where she had been a resident for the past five months. Born in Van Buren on March 24, 1920, she was the daughter of Albert and Agnes Thibeault Albert. Educated in Van Buren and local schools, she married Joseph Cyr in Ss. Peter & Paul Basilica on February 20, 1939. Mr. Cyr passed away in 2009. Survivors include a brother, Clifford Albert of Anaheim, CA, a sister, Gladys Lussier of Mission Viejo, CA, a sister-in-law, Yvette Albert of Fullerton, CA, and many nieces and nephews. …
