Bertha Y. (Charest) Libby, 95, of Blake Street Towers, Lewiston, died peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at Marshwood Nursing Home in Lewiston, following a brief illness. Born in Lewiston on March 3, 1922, she was the daughter of Joseph A. and Florida Bosse LeClair. Educated in local schools, she married Norman E. Charest in 1941.  Norman passed away in 1995. She married her second husband, Arnold Libby, in 1976.  Arnold passed in 2003. She was a dedicated wife and mother, a creative and accomplished seamstress, and an avid fisherman who knew just where to toss that line every time. …

John Gerald Koris from Leeds passed away at home on July 22, 2017 with his family by his side. He was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s in 2014. John was born February 6, 1962 to Anthony and Billie (Doucette) Koris of Rumford. He was married to the love of his life Carol Ann (Boucher) Koris in 1984 and together they have one son Jacob Boucher Koris. John has three siblings, David Koris and spouse Molly (Burke) Koris from North Carolina; Dawn (Koris) Nash and spouse Steve Nash from Turner; and Tasha Koris from New Hampshire. He also leaves behind his father in-law and mother-in law Richard and Bernice (Morin) Boucher and brother in-law Jeffrey Boucher along with many aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. …

Robert Charles Beliveau, 83, died peacefully July 21st, 2017 at his home with his family in Auburn, Maine after an extended illness. Robert was born on February 23rd, 1934 in Lewiston Maine to Joseph and Eleanor (Bilodeau) Beliveau. A graduate of Lewiston High School and a member of the National Guard for many years, and he retired from the Auburn Fire Department after 25 years of service to the local community. Robert was a curator for the Maine Historical society and took an avid interest in Maine History. Some of his other interests included antique, coin, and knife collecting. …

Norman J.F. Marquis, 78 of Old Orchard Beach, died at home on July 15, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born in Lewiston, October 23, 1938, the son of Normand & Jeannette Poudrier Marquis of French Canadian Heritage.  He attended Lewiston schools, including Lewiston High School. On March 1, 1958 he joined the USAF serving in both the United States and Morocco North Africa.  After leaving the Air Force, he entered Bradley University’s School of Engraving  in Illinois. Upon graduation, he opened Jr’s Pro Shop in Lewiston, which later became Maine Awards. …

Nancy Carolyn Albert, known as “Carolyn,” 79, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, July 13, 2017, surrounded by her family. Carolyn was born February 20, 1938, to George and Louise Horton Ritchie in Paducah, KY. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy High School in Paducah, and then joined the US Air Force. She served as a medic in the 575th Air Hospital, First Fighter Squadron at Selfridge Air Force Base in St. Clement, MI. It was there that she met the love of her life, Robert Albert. After completing their military service, the couple married and moved to Davenport, IA, where Bob attended the Palmer School of Chiropractic. …

Anita Roy-van Oosten, 92, of 34 Rackley Drive, Greene, died peacefully on Monday, July 10, 2017, at the Hospice House in Auburn, surrounded by family and friends. Born in Lewiston on February 23, 1925, she was the daughter of Ephrem Z. and Clara Doyon Ouellette. A graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of 1943, she married Roland L. Roy on  January 19, 1946. Mr. Roy passed away in 1995. She married her second husband, Peter van Oosten, on April 4, 1998.. Anita was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and  friend. In her younger years she was active in Cub Scouts, and later became active in CIM reading group and a Wednesday prayer group. …

Pauline A. Bussiere, 97, of Lewiston, died Sunday morning, July 2, 2017, the the Marshwood Nursing Home in Lewiston. She was born January 14, 1920 in Van Buren, the daughter of Francois and Albina L’Italien Violette. She was educated in Presque Isle schools, and on April 14, 1941 she married Roland Bussiere, who passed away in 1985. For several years, she worked for Zayre’s as the Fabric Department Manager. Pauline enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and jig-saw puzzles. She loved keeping her yard neat and tidy, and in the fall you would see her with a rake in her hands almost every day, trying to keep up with the falling leaves. …

Anthony Nino Emmi, known to his friends and family as Tony, died peacefully in his sleep Friday evening, June 30, 2017, at the Montello Manor in Lewiston. Tony was born to Giosia Emmi and Lucia Anzalone in Queens, New York, the second of three children. He spent his childhood in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Astoria, Queens. Tony graduated from Long Island College and the University of Maine Law School. He enlisted in the United States Navy during World War II. His service brought him to the Naval Air Station in Brunswick. While in Maine, Tony met the love of his life, Adrienne Cote. …

Mary L. Charpentier, 84, died Friday, June 30, 2017, at the Clover Living Center in Auburn, where she had been a resident since 2010. Born in Auburn on October 29, 1932, the daughter of Frederick and Mary Bilodeau Whirley Sr. Educated in local schools, Mary worked as a waitress in several area restaurants until her retirement due to disability in 1989. On November 16, 1979, she married Normand J. Charpentier, who passed away on November 12, 2011. A member of the former St. Patrick’s Parish, she was active in the Rosary Sodality, the VFW Auxiliary,  the American Legion Auxiliary, and was a proud member of the Red Hat Society. …
