Stephen Crawford Weidner, 50, of Auburn, died peacefully on August 27th 2017 at the Marshwood Center in Lewiston. His parents and sisters were with him in his final days of life.  He was born in Brunswick on April 17th 1967 and attended schools in Orchard Park and East Aurora New York.  Steve graduated from South High School in Crystal Lake Illinois in 1986 where he played varsity hockey and tennis. He attended Southern Illinois University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. After college Steve worked in the financial services industry in the Chicago area before moving to Maine in 2001.  …

Elsie B. LePage, 1930 - 2017

Elsie LePage, 87, passed away in Portland on August 26, 2017 after a long illness.  Elsie was born in Livermore on February 19, 1930, the youngest of ten children of Mark Lester and Victoria Buzzell Burgess. She graduated from Edward Little High School, where she was a majorette, leading the marching band with her elegance and beauty.  She briefly worked as a model in New York City before returning to Maine. She met the love of her life, Robert Norman LePage in 1952 while on a double date. The two of them connected on the dance floor, where they discovered they could definitely cut a rug. …

Priscilla (Arnold) Bishop, 84, of Falmouth, Maine died in Yarmouth, ME, on Friday, August 18, 2017, after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born September 25, 1932 in Belfast, ME to Elmer B. and Inez Arnold. She grew up in Stockton Springs and resided in Hampden, ME, the Burlington, VT area and Falmouth, ME.  Priscilla is survived by her children Rhonda (Jeff) Wood, Candace (Christopher) Slack and Roy (Helen) Bishop and her granddaughters Haley, Hannah, Madeleine and Emily. She is also survived by her sisters Elizabeth Collar of Easley, SC and Mary Arnold of Stockton Springs, ME and by her lifelong friend Diane Coose Littlefield of Hampden, ME. …

James A. Calnan Jr., 1938 - 2017

James A. Calnan Jr., 78, of Lewiston, died Monday, August 14, 2017, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice in Auburn. Jay was born on September 16th, 1938 in Boston, Massachusetts, the first child of J. Arthur and Laura E. McKown Calnan Sr. He and his mother were still in the hospital in Boston when the great hurricane of ’38 hit New England. He lived in Hingham, Massachusetts, where he started his schooling before moving to Hallowell, Maine, in July of 1945. After graduating from Hallowell High School, he enlisted in the US Army, proudly serving in Germany in the 3rd Armored Division under the command of General Creighton W. …

Julien A. “Jules” Roy, 76, of Poland Springs, passed away at Androscoggin Hospice House on August 8th surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 13, 1940, the son of Irene (Godbout) and Gerard “Peton” Roy.  He married Claudette L Raymond, his loving wife on August 29, 1959.  Jules was a man of few words, but was always in the middle of family gatherings observing the commotion of our large family.  Those last few weeks of his life revealed how much he was aware of all that was happening around him.  His well- timed comments made us all laugh and appreciate the humorous side of this quiet man. …

Eric E. Dulac, 41, of Lewiston, died in Lewiston on Friday, August 11, 2017. Born in Lewiston, he was the son of Robert and Colette Lachance Dulac. Eric is survived by his father Robert, brothers Stephan and Bobby. He was predeceased by his mother, Colette Dulac; a sister, Diane Dangelo; his paternal grandparents, Emile and Aline Dulac; maternal grandparents, Antoine and Florida Quiron Lachance; uncles, Emilien Dulac, Andre Dulac, and Sanville Lachance; and an Aunt Monique Dulac.

Janice C. Harris, 73, passed away at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center, Lewiston, ME August 10, 2017 with her family by her side. She fought a courageous 3 year battle with ovarian cancer, Janice was born in Lewiston, ME, January 6, 1944, to her parents Annette (Berton) Baril and Arthur Baril. She attended Auburn schools. She married the love of her life Brian S. Harris on August 31, 1961. She worked as a waitress, bookkeeper and para-legal with Levey & Wessler, Winthrop. Jan and Brian moved to Winthrop in 1966 where they raised three children, She enjoyed gardening, making pottery,  cross stitch, lace angels and especially card making with her “Yahoo” friends. …

John Garfield Stone, aged 70, died peacefully August 8, 2017, at the Hospice House with his loving wife of 42 years, Anita, at his side. He was born January 18, 1947 in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Alexander Garfield Stone and Anna Davis Stone. John was a loving husband, uncle, teacher, friend, and generous humanitarian. He loved teaching, coaching the math team, and helping young people reach their full potential. John (AKA “the Doctor”) spent 35 years at Maranacook Community School as many of his students’ favorite math teacher and many of his colleagues’ best friend. …

Lorraine Beaule St. Hilaire, 91, died August 2, 2017 at the Hospice House in Auburn. Born in Lewiston, she was the oldest of four children of John Beaule and Yolande Dostie Beaule. She graduated from l’école Ste. Marie and eventually earned her GED after having left high school to help her family financially. Lorraine met her future husband Fernand St. Hilaire, whom she loved dearly, in the Little Canada neighborhood. Fern and Lorraine married soon after his return from the Navy and shortly after their marriage they bought a house on Lincoln St. with the help of his mother, Leontine. …
