Theresa A. Restori, 95, formerly of the Chapman House, Auburn, and a resident of Clover Manor for the past two months, died Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. Born in Lewiston on May 9, 1917, she was the daughter of Antonio and Maria LaBrecque Beland. Educated locally, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’35. On June 14, 1943, she married Louis P. Restori, who passed away on February 11, 2002. She worked for many years at the Pepperell Mill, and than as a custodian at Lewiston High School until her retirement.  …

Jeannette Marie Couturier Vachon, 82, of Lisbon, died October 24, 2012, at Ouellette’s Adult Foster Home. She was born in Lewiston, November 18,1929, the daughter of Onesime and Lucie Lagace Couturier. Educated in Lewiston Catholic schools and worked in the Bates Mill as a supervisor and inspector of fabrics for 10 years. She later worked as a homemaker and supported her husband’s businesses. On January 31, 1953, she married Robert D. Vachon of Lewiston. They settled in Lisbon in 1957 and raised four children. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, reading, scrapbooking and most of all laughing. …

Fernande Boulet, 86, of Lewiston, died Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the Hospice House in Auburn with her loving family at her side. Born in Lewiston on January 2,1926, she was the daughter of Alfred and Eugenie Pare Bisson. She was raised and attended schools in St. George de Beauce, P.Q., Canada, returning to Lewiston as a young woman and met and married the love of her life, Laurier Boulet, who sadly predeceased her 9 weeks ago on August 12, 2012. Together they celebrated 67 years of marriage.

A cancer survivor of 65 years, she worked in various shoe shops and retired form GE Auburn in 1984. …

Gaston “Gus” L. Plourde, 88, formerly of 378 Foster Road, Auburn, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. Born in Lisbon Falls on August 20, 1924, he was the son of August and Delima Ouellette Plourde. Educated in local schools, he married the former Irene M. Bisson on October 12, 1946, at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn. He worked at the Portland shipyard during World War II, and later worked as a weaver in the area textile industry for many years. He also worked in local shoe shops, and his final job before retiring was as a manager at Lisa’s Pizza in Old Orchard Beach. …

Linda Madore Dumais, 1948 - 2012

Linda Madore Dumais, 64, of Lewiston, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice Services, with her loving family by her side. She was born June 21, 1948 in Lewiston, the first child of Ernest E. Madore and Cecile LeBlanc Madore Gagne, and the step daughter to Gerald Gagne, who are all deceased.

Linda graduated from Lewiston High School in 1966 and Bliss College in 1968. Upon graduation she started her career with New England Telephone, and eventually retired from Verizon in 1996. Once retired she worked one year at the cafeteria at Trinity School, then worked ten years for MetLife, both in Falmouth and in Lewiston. …

Roland A. Desjardins, 1926 - 2012

Roland A. Desjardins, 86, of 2 Hillview Lane, Lewiston, died peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Tuesday October 2, 2012.

He was born in Auburn on June 16, 1926 to Arthur and Berthe Hamel Desjardins.  

He was educated at St. Louis and Edward Little High schools in Auburn.  His high school graduation was delayed when, at 17, he was drafted into WWII.  He trained with Company "B" Seventh Infantry Training Battalion at Camp Wheeler, Georgia where he qualified as an "Expert" Rifleman.  He served overseas as radio repairman and Army tank operator on the European front in Germany.  …
