Joseph A. Lewicki Jr., 54, of 7 Bayberry Lane, Lewiston, died suddenly at his home on Wednesday, October 30, 2013. Born in Cambridge, MA, on May 28, 1959, the son of Joseph and Lillian Sullivan Lewicki Sr. Educated in Cambridge schools, he married the former Diana M. Demers on August 28, 1987. He was employed by the Lewiston School Department for many years, retiring in 2012 due to injury. In his younger years, he was an avid softball player, travelling all over New England for tournaments. He never forgot his Boston roots and was a fan of all the Boston sports teams. …

Napoleon J. Grivois Jr., 86, formerly of 25 Martha Avenue, Lewiston, died Sunday, October 20, 2013, at the Meadows Assisted Living Center in Greene, where he had been a resident for the past year and a half. Born in Waterville on December 12, 1926, he was the son of Napoleon and Josephine (Parent) Grivois Sr. Educated in Auburn schools, he was a World War II veteran, serving in Europe with the US Army. After the war, he returned to the local area, and on November 8, 1952, he married the former Gertrude Croteau in Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Mrs. Grivois passed away on May 2, 2005. …

May D. Beaucage, 94,  a resident of Cassell St., Lewiston passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013  at the Hospice House  in Auburn, surrounded by her Family. She was born in Lewiston, March 9, 1919, the daughter of Ulderic and Annie (Bradbury) Dionne. She married the love of her life Raynald A. Beaucage on January 24, 1942 at Ste. Croix Church, Lewiston, Maine. She worked at Bell Moc Shoe and various shoe shops as a top stitcher, retiring in 1981 at age 62. She was a member of Ste. Croix Church, Les Dames de Ste. Anne of Ste. Croix, a member of AARP, and Lewiston Seniors.  …

Edith Renard Nussinow, 1930 - 2013


Edith Renard Nussinow, 83, of 14 Wakely Court, Portland and formerly of Lewiston and Pompano Beach, Florida, passed peacefully Monday morning, surrounded by her children, at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

Born Edith Carolyn Renard on May 9, 1930, she was the youngest of four children born to Jacques and Jean Cohen Renard. Born and raised first in Boston and then Beverly Hills, California, Edith or EC as she was best known, was educated in both Massachusetts and California schools, and attended classes at Katharine Gibbs College in Boston. She married the late Sheldon Allan Nussinow on December 14, 1952, and began raising a family in Lewiston.

AUBURN – Bradford E. Brackenbury, 64, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, October 14th, 2013. Born in Lewiston on January 1, 1949, he was the son of J. Earl Brackenbury  and Theresa (Maheux) Stasick of Auburn.  After graduation from E.L.H.S. in 1967, he joined the armed forces and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He was an avid walker who loved the ocean and could talk to you for hours about science and astronomy.  Bradford was a kind and gentle soul who was loved by many. 

 Bradford is survived by his wife of 26 years, the former Janis Boston of Auburn, his step -son, Eddie Gagne and companion Sean of Kennebunk, his sister, Brenda Bisson and husband Paul of Auburn, their sons Michael Bisson, wife Kimberly and their daughter Camille of Pleasanton, CA, and Timothy Bisson, his wife Jennifer and their sons Jack and Aiden of Long Island, NY, two special aunts, who were like mothers to Bradford, Dorothy Weeks and Eleanor Helwig of Auburn, and many cousins. …

Dorothy L. Bolduc, 99, of 66 Warren Avenue, Lewiston, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at the d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. Born in Presque Isle on December 18, 1913, she was the daughter of Pierre S. and Laura Caron Michaud. Dorothy was one of 9 children. On Sept 4, 1933, she married Simeon J. Bolduc, who passed away in December of 1984. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she was very active in church activities, especially with the Sodality. She was also a member of La Survivance Francaise, and for over 30 years volunteered at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. …

Nancy R. Dube, 71, longtime resident of Lewiston, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at the Hospice House in Auburn with her family and friends by her side. She was born in Skowhegan on June 6, 1942, the daughter of Phillip and Blanche LaVallee Veilleux. She married Laurent Dube in 1971, and together they raised three daughters. She was educated in Skowhegan until she moved to Lewiston in 1959, and graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of ’60. After graduation, she worked for Raytheon in Lewiston before moving to Southington, CT, where she spent five years. In 1968, she returned to Lewiston and went to work for General Electric, where she stayed for 25 years, retiring in 1997. …

Patricia E. Sullivan, 1937 - 2013

Patricia E. Sullivan, 76, of Auburn, died in her home on Saturday, September 28, 2013. Born in Auburn on January 14, 1937, she was the daughter of Joseph and Ida Roy Sullivan. Educated in Auburn schools, she was a graduate of Edward Little High School. Following the death of her father in 1959, she helped her mother run a hotel in Old Orchard Beach from 1960 to 1970, did daycare for several years, and then worked at the Hannaford’s Supermarket in Auburn until her retirement. Pat enjoyed a good joke and laughed easily, and had a life-long love of animals. Although she never had any of her own, she especially loved being around children. …
