Lucie Ann Richard, 1952 - 2015

Lucie Ann Richard, 63, of Turner, died on Thursday evening, November 26, 2015 at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Farmington on February 14, 1952, she was the daughter of Emile and Margaret Cormier Richard. Lucie graduated from Jay High School, Class of ’70, and later from the  Nursing School of CMVTI, and was a dedicated worker at International Paper Company and Verso Paper before retiring in 2014.  She loved camping, bike riding and kayaking.  Lucie was a kind person with a friendly, generous, and considerate nature who loved animals and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.She is survived by her mother, Margaret Richard of Auburn; her sisters Gail Corbin of Hartford and Rose Lagasse of Auburn; her brothers James Richard of Jay, Paul Richard of Augusta, Edward Richard of Lakeland, Florida, and Claude Richard of Augusta; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; and her dear and long-time friends Judy Lovejoy and Debi Brown. …

Jean Carol Hodsdon, 88, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully Monday, November 16, 2015, at the Hospice House in Auburn,  with her sons by her side. She was the Daughter of Harold and Hilda Walsh Stevens.  She had worked for several years at the Goodwill Store when it was on Lisbon Street in Lewiston. Carol was a sales associate for Bradlees department store where she retired after many years.  Carol attended Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, where she was a member of Ladies of St. Anne Sodality.  She lived at Meadowview Apts. in Lewiston where she enjoyed playing bingo and playing cards with her many good friends.  …

James Otis Ervin, 1934 - 2015

James Otis Ervin, 81, of 177 Cook Street, Auburn, died Friday, November 20, 2015, at the Hospice House in Auburn following a courageous battle with glioblastoma, a brain cancer. He also had prostate cancer.   Born in Woodstock, Maine, on February 9, 1934, he was the son of Leroy and Marguerite Dudley Ervin.  A graduate of Corinna Union Academy, Class of 1952, he went on to the University of Maine, graduating in 1956 with a degree in electrical engineering. While there, he became a brother in the Phi Eta Kappa Fraternity.  While in college Jim enrolled in the Army ROTC.  …

Louis J. Roy, 1931 - 2015

Louis J. Roy, 83, of 22 White Street, Lewiston, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at the Hospice House in Auburn. Born in Brunswick on November 30, 1931, he was the son of Louis and Eva Rousseau Roy. A graduate of Brunswick High School, he also earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Boston College in 1959. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On July 17, 1965, he married the former Mary M. McGloine. They lived in Brunswick, then moved to Lewiston in 1976. He worked for many years as a Real Estate Broker and Partner at Norman Roy Associates. He was an avid reader and devoted himself to improving the health of his son, who was afflicted with cystic fibrosis. …

Virginia Beland, 104, formerly of St. Quentin, N.B., Canada, Lisbon Falls, Skowhegan, and Lewiston died Friday October 30, 2015, at the Eastside Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Bangor. Born in Saint-Damase, Quebec, on April 30, 1911, she was the daughter of Joseph and Eugenie Otis Beland. She first came to Maine in 1929 to visit her sister, Louise Gaudreau, and help care for her new baby. In 1946, Virginia became a citizen of the United States, while living in Lisbon Falls, Maine. She kept house for Father Lucien Chabot for 55 years, moving a number of times to different parishes. …

Hectorette “Peggy” Tardif, 91, of Lewiston, died Thursday, November 5, 2015, at the d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lisbon on December 2, 1923, she was the daughter of Jules and Irma Chouinard Hamel. In 1950 she married Rosaire G. Tardif in Lewiston, and they celebrated with a Red Sox game in Boston. They made their home on Grove Street in Lewiston. After their kids were grown, they moved to Rochester, NH, for several years, until his passing in 1978. After her husband’s death, Peggy moved back to the local area, and lived in the Lake Auburn Towne House for many years. …

Latricia Anne Foster, 1927 - 2015

Latricia ‘Terry’ Anne Foster, 87, died Saturday, October 31, 2015, at the d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. Born in Auburn on December 30, 1927, she was the daughter of Ralph D. and Alice M. Purington Turner. Educated locally, she worked for 25 years in Sales at King’s Department Store, until they closed their doors. In 1972, she married Richard Tewhey, and they were happily married for 24 years until his passing in 1996. In 2004 she married Carlton Foster, and he passed in 2007. Latricia enjoyed spending time at camp with Richard on Annabessacook and Keoka lakes, and she will be greatly missed by the many friends she made at both lakes. …

Donna L. Hall, 63, of Lewiston, and formerly of Westbrook and Scarborough, passed away on Friday, Oct. 30, at Central Maine Medical Center, with her family by her side. Donna was born in Portland on Sept. 2, 1952, the daughter of the late Russell and Shirley Millett. She enjoyed shopping, reading, beano, and spending time with family. She is survived by her sons, Mike Millett of Lewiston, and Charlie Hall of Hollywood, Fla.; and by her four grandchildren, Kris, McCailla, Charlie, and Jamie. She also leaves behind her sister, and best friend, Mary Carr, her brother, Russell Millett, and his wife Carroll; eight nieces and nephews, Alan, Krista, Serena, Michelle, Dawn, Denise, Kelly, and Therese; and many more friends and family. …
