Charles I. Crosby Jr., 91, of 20 Champlain Avenue, Lewiston, died at his home on Saturday, December 7, 2013. Born in East Livermore on October 14, 1922, he was the son of Charles Sr. and Christine Gilbert Crosby. A graduate of Livermore Falls High School, Class of ’42, he also received a degree from the University of Maine. A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army. He worked as an engineer for many years, first at International Paper, then Pratt & Witney, and finally for Southwest Machine, where he was the inventor of the truck “dry-dock”. He had a lifelong love of flying and was an accomplished pilot, and used his mechanical and technical skills to restore an old Cessna plane. …

Judith Ann Rancourt, 1939 - 2013

Judith Ann Rancourt, 74, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at Montello Manor, on December 10, 2013, following a long illness. She was born on July 8, 1939, the daughter of Pearl and Frank Hallowell Sr. She attended Yarmouth schools. On June 29, 1968, she married Charles Rancourt in Lewiston, Maine. They just celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary this year. Judy was a homemaker and raised her two daughters, and later in life enjoyed all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by her family. Despite all her health issues over the last several years, Judy held strong to her Catholic faith and knew that God would take care of her and see her home safely where she would finally be healthy and without pain once again. …

Renae Rose Turcotte, 37, of 2 Fox Run Drive, Lewiston, died in Auburn on Friday, December 6th, 2013, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice Services, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Brunswick on July 1st, 1976, she was the daughter of Dennis and Maureen Driscoll Turcotte of Lewiston. She was a graduate of Lisbon High School, Class of 1994, and received an Associate Degree from Mid-State College. Renae worked at the Harraseeket Inn in Freeport, then her love of travel and adventure led her to Brisbane, Australia where she held a job as an administrative assistant at Queensland University. …

Thomas J. Anthoine, Jr, 77, of Lewiston, died Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice Services in Auburn, following a long battle with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). He was a caring and loving person who touched so many lives in so many ways. He embraced life with purpose and enthusiasm, even during his toughest months of his illness. Born on September 5, 1936 in Lewiston, he was the son of Thomas J. Anthoine, Sr., and Margaret T. Anthoine (Mynahan). He grew up in Lewiston and attended St. Patrick’s Parochial School, and graduated in 1954 from Lewiston High School. …

Mignonne C. Cote, 1921 - 2013

Mignonne C. Cote, 91, formerly of 104 Baird Avenue, Lewiston, and a resident of d’Youville Pavilion since 2008, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Born in Lewiston on December 21, 1921, she was the daughter of Joseph and Florianne Bergeron Samson. Educated locally, she married Roger J. Cote on July 25, 1942, at Ss. Peter & Paul Church. Mr. Cote passed away on June 8, 2002. A member of Holy Cross Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Georgette Clement.
