Peter S. Van Ham, 55, of 187 Jordan Road, Mechanic Falls, died Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Born in Lewiston on October 17, 1959, he was the son of Robert and Mildred Hildreth Van Ham. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’78. He worked at the Unemployment Office in Lewiston for several years, and then worked at the Department of Health and Human Services offices in Lewiston and South Paris. For the past year, he has been employed as a dealer at the Oxford Casino. Peter enjoyed cooking, working on his ’73 Mustang Mach 1, walking his dog Sadie, and playing with his cats Charlie, Angel, and Roscoe. …

Sonia J. Geiger, 1919 - 2014

Sonia J. Geiger, 95, of South Pasadena, FL, passed away Monday, Nov. 17, 2014 at The Springs in South Pasadena, FL. Born and raised in Maine, Sonia was a legal and executive secretary while raising her family. A lively presence, a generous person, and a good friend to many. Sonia will be missed. She retired to Florida in 1977, and until her ill health, volunteered many years at a local hospital and was a member of the Women's Chamber of Commerce of Greater Gulf Beaches. She is survived by her daughter, Sonia Karnes; seven grandchildren, two of them being local; Wanda Tripp of Mechanic Falls and Christine McMillen of Lewiston;  13 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Kate Thornton. …

Gabrielle Turcotte, 1944 - 2014

Gabrielle A. Turcotte, 70, of 143 Lane Road, Greene, died Saturday, December 6, 2014, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn. Born in Lisbon on February 15, 1944, she was the daughter of Phillip and Mary Agnes Goyette Perreault. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of St. Dominic High School. On June 11, 1966, she married Lawrence Turcotte in Lewiston, and they made their home together in Greene. She worked at a variety of local businesses over the years, including several years at the Shaw’s Supermarket in Lewiston. She was a dedicated homemaker and mother, and enjoyed all sorts of crafts, especially quilting. …

Gladys M. Dick, 1930 - 2014

Gladys Marion (Gibson) Dick, 84, of Lewiston, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, December 2nd, at Central Maine Medical Center.  Born in Lewiston on September 26th, 1930, she was the daughter of William John Gibson Sr. and Naomi (Phelps) Gibson, and was a life long resident of Lewiston.  Gladys attended Wallace Elementary, Jordan Junior High School and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1948.  

Her early educational experiences had a deep impact on forming a sound moral compass.  She was an active member of the United Baptist Church in Lewiston.  …
