Joseph R. Robert, 86, of 20 Goff Avenue, Lewiston passed away on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at Marshwood Center in Lewiston.  His loving family was with him during his final hours.  Born in Lewiston on October 20, 1930 he was the son of Edmond and Alma Robert.  After graduating from Lewiston High School, Joseph enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Okinawa during the Korean War.  After the war, he married Connie Tremblay on September 8, 1956 and they had two children together, Mark and Cindy.  He worked locally as a communications systems technician for New England Telephone and AT&T and later owned his own company, Robert’s Telephone Inc. …

John Louis Schwarz Jr, 60, formerly of Silver Spring, MD, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 17, 2016, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Born in Baltimore, MD on Nov. 17, 1956, he is the son of the late John Louis Sr. and Marjorie Fidelman Schwarz. A long-time senior executive, John was the Senior Advisor, Software Center of Excellence for the government’s Federal Acquisition Service/ Integrated Technology Services, a program aligned with the President’s goals to reduce the deficit. John’s 38-year career as a civil servant with the federal government included positions in the Department of Defense, Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, Housing and Urban Development, and the FDIC. …

Lorraine L. Dinardo, 1929 - 2016


Lorraine L. Dinardo, 87, formerly of Lewiston and a resident of Dover, NH, for the past 5 years, died Monday, December 19, 2016, at the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover. Born in Lewiston on November 3, 1929, she was the daughter of Wilda and Elsie Wiriot Gagne, and was educated in local schools. At the age of 19 she met a young Italian paper mill worker from Berlin, NH named Albert Dinardo and he talked her into marrying him and moving north to Berlin, NH. On 2/12/1949 she married and started her journey of living in the north country that lasted some 50 years. …

Gerald “Bud” Labrie, 1930 - 2016


Gerald L. Labrie, 86, a resident of Clover Manor in Auburn and a former longtime resident of Sabattus Street in Lewiston, died at Clover on December 2, 2016. Born in Lewiston on October 24, 1930, he was the son of Adrien and Almance Boutin Labrie. Educated in local schools, Bud served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. After his military service, he returned to Lewiston and, on July 21, 1956, he married the love of his life, the former Constance Dostie. For several years he owned the Pine Grove Bar with his brother, and later worked at Sears, was a Deputy Sheriff, worked several different positions at Pioneer Plastics, and for many years was a salesman at Country Lane Estates. …
