Myrick Obit Pic

Arthur H. Myrick, 81, of 25 Carson Street, Auburn, died Sunday, July 5, 2015, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lewiston on March 8, 1934, he was the son of Arthur F. and Ida V. Burgess Myrick. Educated in local schools, he was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of ’52. On May 4, 1957, he married the former Maureen Michael. They were happily married for 55 years until Maureen passed on May 19, 2012. Prior to his retirement, he was employed for many years as a tractor trailer driver for Armour, Sanborns, and APA Transport. He had a life-long love of cars, and enjoyed attending car shows and working on classics, especially his “old yellow car”. In his younger years he enjoyed snowmobiling and bowling, and he was an avid Boston sports fan. In his later years, mornings often found him having coffee with his friends at Tim Horton’s in Auburn. The memories of his quick wit and funny stories continue to make us smile. Survivors include a son, Joseph and wife Maureen of Lewiston, two daughters, Susan and husband John Martins of Auburn, and Catherine Roberts-Morin and husband Michael Morin of Auburn, two brothers, Bruce and wife Rita of Sabattus, and Dennis and wife Keri of Auburn, two sisters, Carol Randall of Bowdoinham, and Sharon Rafnell of Topsham, five grandchildren; Jacob Roberts, Elizabeth Morin, Katie and Matt Myrick, and Nicholas Fess, and one great-grandchild. Besides his parents and wife, he was predeceased by two brothers, Harold and Steve Myrick. The family thanks the staffs of St. Mary’s Hospital and the Hospice House for the loving care they gave Harry during his final days.
