Beatrice E. Harris, 98, of 540 College Street, Lewiston, died Friday, September 27, 2013, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, following a brief illness. Born in North Leeds on July 6, 1915, she was the daughter of Guy and Angie White Bennett. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Edward Little High School. In 1936, she married Wilfred Harris, who passed away in 1976. A member of the former St. Patrick’s Church, she enjoyed the company of her fellow Montello Commons residents, and took part in many activities there.  During her life she was a talented seamstress, lifelong homemaker, an avid and fantastic golfer, and a winning bingo player. Survivors include a daughter, Margaret Thebald of Sheboygan, WI, a daughter-in-law, Karen Harris of Lewiston, twelve grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she is predeceased by two sons, Bill and George Harris, two brothers, Wesley and Clyde Bennett, and two grandsons, Brian Thebald and Scott Harris. 

Funeral Notice


HARRIS, Beatrice, 98, of Lewiston, died in Lewiston on September 27, 2013. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 9 - 11 AM, followed by a Liturgy of the Word Service in the funeral home at 11 AM. Interment, Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, the Hospice House Fund, Development Department, 15 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston, ME, 04240.
