Blanche J. Szott, 1918 - 2015

Blanche J. Szott, 97, formerly of Lewiston, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2015, at the Ledgeview Living Center in West Paris, where she had been a resident for the past several years. Born in Lewiston on February 10, 1918, she was the daughter of Michael and Tekla Krason Szott. Educated locally, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School, Class of ’36, and also attended the Richard School of Gregg Shorthand. She was employed as a stenographer in the Marketing and Sales Department of the Maine Central Railroad, subsequently Guilford Transportation Industries, Portland, for nearly thirty years. After her retirement, she returned to Lewiston in 1985. A member of the former St. Patrick’s Church, she is survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Henry Szott, who passed away in 2013. Blanche was always a very kind and generous person, and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She will be greatly missed.

Funeral Notice

SZOTT, Blanche, 97, formerly of Lewiston, died in West Paris on December 23, 2015. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday, 11 - 1 PM, with a Liturgy of the Word Service at 1 PM. Interment will be in the spring, Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, Florida 32256, or to the charity of your choice.
