Claire J. Gagnon, 59, of 49 Third Street, Auburn, died Thursday, March 23, 2017, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, following a long illness. Born in Lewiston on October 5, 1957, she was the daughter of Leo and Marietta Ruel Turgeon. Educated in local schools, she was a graduate of Lewiston High School. She worked in offices of Lamey-Wellehan for many years, retiring due to illness in 2010. She loved crafts and had a collection of angels, but her greatest joy came from time spent with her family. A member of Holy Family Church, prince of Peace Parish, she is survived by a son, James and wife Gerry of Auburn, a daughter, Ashley and husband Scott Doughty of Lewiston, two brothers, Paul and wife Barbara Turgeon of Turner, and Louis and wife Marti Turgeon of Walls, MS,  a sister, Suzanne Gagnon, of Auburn, and seven grandchildren; Gwenneth, Olivia, Sarah, Anthony, Charlie, and Kayden. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Claude and Pierre, a sister, Rachel Turgeon, and a granddaughter, Chloe. Claire’s children have said the best words to describe her are strong, loyal, dedicated, and loving. She had an all in, selfless personality and was most alive when caring for others. 

Funeral Notice

GAGNON, Claire, 59, of Auburn, died in Lewiston on Thursday, March 23, 2017. Visitation will be Sunday, 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM. Services will be Monday, 1 PM, Holy Family Church. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
