Constance D. (Hunter) Ayotte, 69, of New Auburn, died at Central Maine Medical Center on Saturday, June 24, after a brief illness.  She was born in Augusta, Maine on July 1, 1947, the eldest child of Thomas Sr. and Dorothy (Hoffmann) Hunter.  She graduated from Edward Little High School in 1965 and attended Gorham State College (USM), graduating with a B.S. in Education in 1969.  She taught for over 40 years at schools in Lewiston, Auburn and Lisbon, retiring in 2012.  She enjoyed reading, playing games and traveling with her husband of 48 years Francis (Frank) Ayotte.  She was also Corresponding Secretary for the New Auburn Seniors. She is survived by her husband Frank Ayotte of New Auburn; her son Christopher Ayotte, grandson Peter Ayotte, step-granddaughter Anna Hagan and step-great-granddaughter Jade Gohde of New Castle, Delaware; her mother Dorothy Hunter of Auburn; her brothers Thomas Hunter Jr. of Vassalboro and William Hunter of Turner; and two special friends Dianne Roy of Auburn, and Diane Nadeau of Lewiston. She was predeceased by her father Thomas Hunter Sr. of Auburn and her daughter-in-law Michele Levan Ayotte of New Castle, Delaware. 

Funeral Notice

AYOTTE, Constance D., 69, of New Auburn, died in Lewiston on Saturday, June 24, 2017.   Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, 6 - 8 PM, and Connie’s life will be celebrated with a Liturgy of the Word Service at the funeral home on Wednesday, 2 PM. Entombment, St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Saint Joseph's Indian School, 1301 North Main Street, Chamberlain, SD, 57325.
