Constance D. Labrie, 1935 - 2016

Constance D. Labrie, 81, a resident of Clover Manor in Auburn and a former longtime resident of Sabattus Street in Lewiston, died Monday, September 26, 2016, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. Born in Lewiston on September 17, 1935, she was the daughter of Edward and Lillian Bazinet Dostie. She was educated in local schools, and as a young woman entered the convent and studied to be a nun. She left the convent after a couple of years because of illness, and eventually met the love of her life, Gerald L. “Bud” Labrie. They were married on July 21, 1956. Besides being a devoted wife and mother, she worked for several years for General Electric. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne. In her younger years, she was an avid candlepin bowler, and was on several local teams, including with her co-workers at General Electric. Besides her loving husband of Auburn, she is survived by a son, Richard Labrie of Lewiston, three daughters, Brenda Gammon of Sierra Vista, AZ, Debra Labrie of Lewiston, and Nancy Tremblay and partner Alma Aranda of Sabattus, a sister, Diane Hamann of Suffield, CT, six grandchildren; Jennifer Hinkley, Nicole Mercer, Louie and Amy Tremblay, Nicole Wyman, and Ryder Labrie, four great-grandchildren; Morgan and Max Nelson, Sharon Glenn Jones, and Zane Mercer, and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Eddie and Gerry Dostie, and a grandson, Adam Roy.

 

Funeral Notice

LABRIE, Constance, 81, of Auburn, died in Lewiston on Monday, September 26, 2016. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, 9 - 11 AM, followed by a Liturgy of the Word Service in the funeral home at 11 AM. Prayers of committal will be Tuesday, 2 PM, in the new section of Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, Augusta. Donations may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
