Bolduc Obit Pic

Doris J. Bolduc, 81, of 14 Hills Ridge Road, Greene, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn, with her husband and goddaughter by her side. She was born in Auburn on December 30, 1933, the daughter of Henry and Laura (Thibault) Arpin. Educated in Auburn schools, she was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of ’53. She was known as a “peppy majorette” at both Walton and ELHS. After high school she went to work in the retail business, starting out at Bel Shops, eventually moving to T. J. Murphy Furs, working in sales and as a buyer. This combined her love of fashion and travel, often traveling to Boston and New York. She continued her sales career at B. Pecks and retired from J.C. Penney. She met the love of her life, Richard Bolduc, in 1953, and they married on September 4, 1954. Together they lived their early years in Auburn and later built a home in Greene. The second love of her life was their camp, which they built on Pleasant Lake in Otisfield. There she loved to swim, sunbathe, and water ski. She also enjoyed snowmobiling, casino trips, traveling to Quebec, and spending many winters in Florida. One of her family’s special memories was when she travelled to Europe to meet her first of three grand nephews, all of whom she considered her grandsons. While there she visited Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Holland. Holidays spent with her family and grandsons were especially joyful for her. A member of Holy Family Church, Prince of Peace Parish, she is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard of Greene, Goddaughter Marcia Fleury of Old Orchard Beach, grandsons Aaron, Jeremy, and Andrew Fleury all of Old Orchard Beach, goddaughter Ann-Marie Michaud of Lewiston, and special niece Mary Lynne Sullivan and husband John P. Sullivan, Jr. of South Portland. Doris also leaves many nieces, Nephews, cousins, and friends. The family thanks the staff of Hospice House in Auburn for their wonderful, compassionate care to the family and our loved one.
