Emelia A. Dubois, 88, of Lewiston, died Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Woodlands Memory Care in Lewiston, where she had been a resident since November of 2015. Born in Canada on October 16, 1928, she was the daughter of Alexander and Olivia Lavoie Dube. Educated in Canadian schools, she moved to the local area as a young woman, and worked for several years as a housekeeper for the Biggs family of Turner, and then in local shoe shops. In September of 1952 married Bertrand A. Dubois, who passed away in 2006. In 1969, she and her husband purchased Quality Market on College Street in Lewiston, and owned and operated it for many years. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker, famous for her cheesecake, and loved to garden and putter in her backyard. A member of Ss. Peter & Paul Basilica, Prince of Peace Parish, she is survived by two sons, Gary and wife Arlene of Lewiston, and Ronald and wife Patricia of Lewiston, a brother, Philip Dube and wife Georgette of Coaticook, Canada, two sisters, Rose and husband Lucien Cazabonne of Drummondville, Canada, and Yolande Deschaines of Drummondville, Canada, six grandchildren; Jennifer Leonard, Vicki and husband Jason Cote, Nathan Dukhey and wife Valerie, Christina Martin, Brandon Dubois and wife Jenna, and Ryan Dubois, and thirteen great-grandchildren with one on the way. 

Funeral Notice

DUBOIS, Emelia, 88, of Lewiston, died in Lewiston on Thursday, March 2, 2017. Services will be held Monday, 11 AM, in the Upper Church of Ss. Peter & Paul Basilica. Entombment, St. Peter’s Cemetery. No visitation. Donations may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
