Emile O. Cloutier, 1929 - 2016

Emile O. Cloutier, 87, of Lewiston, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at the Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. He was born in Lewiston on April 29, 1929, the eldest son of the late Omer and Roseaimee (Boucher) Cloutier. He married the former Rita Ouellette on July 24, 1948. Emile was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Marines from 1952-1954. He was proud that his name is inscribed on a stone at the Veterans Memorial Park in Lewiston. Emile’s entire career was spent as a truck driver, retiring from St. Johnsbury Trucking in 1986. He was awarded Maine’s Driver of the Year in 1967. He was a member of Martindale CC, Elks Lodge #371, American Legion #153, VFW Post 1603, and AMVETS Post 1. Emile enjoyed spending many winters at Daytona Beach Shores in Florida with his wife; football with his son; hunting with his son-in-law; taking walks with his daughter; playing cribbage with the family and golfing with his friends. Emile is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rita Cloutier of Lewiston; daughter Sandra Westleigh and husband, Bruce, of Lewiston; son, Michael Cloutier and wife, Jaquelyn of Biddeford. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Aldea Cloutier and niece, Diane Webber of Sabattus; and a nephew, Richard Cloutier of Waterboro, whom he was very close to. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Lucien and Roland Cloutier. The family wishes to thank Androscoggin Home Care and the Hospice House for all their wonderful care over the last year. 

Funeral Notice

CLOUTIER, Emile, 87, of Lewiston, died in Auburn on September 6, 2016. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held at a later date.
