Born in Auburn on September 8, 1924, he was the son of Roy and Florence Burns Stevens. Educated in local schools, he was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater. After the war, he returned to Lewiston and married Theresa Bernier on June 19, 1948.  Terry was Gene’s one and only, not a day went by that Gene did not talk and share memories of her.  They were members of St. Joseph Church. Later in years attended church at St. Patrick’s Church, being friends with Monsignor Gleason. Most recently Gene attended services at St Peters and Paul Basilica. Theresa passed away on April 18, 1997.  Gene worked as a plumber, mostly for Dave Collins Inc. Plumbing and Heating.  He was a member of multiple bowling leagues in his younger years and was a member of AMVETS Post #6. Gene enjoyed watching NASCAR, and was a huge fan of Kyle Busch and was a lifelong New England Patriots fan. He also enjoyed his daily 2 PM “happy hour” with the grand-dogs, Duke Eddie and Buddy. Gene also loved lobster whether eating or wearing lobster shorts and shirts. A big supporter of President Trump, we know Gene has already made heaven greater.
