Felix R. James, 1933 - 2017

Felix R. James, known to friends and family as “Bob”, passed away at the age of 84 on December 13, 2017. Bob was born in Lewiston on August 26, 1933, the son of Lester James and Mathilda Pinette. Bob served in the United States Air Force for 21 years. He will be remembered for always showing up to places with a smile on his face and sweets in his pockets, especially his famous peanut butter fudge. Some of his hobbies include completing puzzles, gardening, watching football, going for rides in hot air balloons, taste testing the local baked sweets, collecting eagle and lighthouse figurines, and spending quality time with his friends and family. Bob will be fondly remembered by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is survived by his three children: Richard R. James, Catherine M. Lavigne-Matos, and Patricia A. Rice and her husband David A. Rice, five grandchildren: Tonya Largay and husband Tim Largay, Kelly James, and Andrew James and wife Katie Grant, Lauren Lavigne, and Loretta Rice, and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; Lester James and Mathilda Pinette, brothers: Freddie James, Arthur James, and George James, sister: Alice Tremaine, daughter-in-law: Theresa James, and son-in-law: Rick Matos. 

Funeral Notice

JAMES, Felix R., 84, of Lewiston, died in Auburn, on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. There will be a service held on Friday, December 29th at 1 PM at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 163 Mount Vernon Road, Augusta. Then there will be a Celebration of Bob’s Life the following day on December 30th from 11 AM to 2 PM in the meeting room at the Hampton Inn in Lewiston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 383 US Route One, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
