Gerard R. Fecteau, 81, of 108 Howe Street, Auburn, Passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 13, 2015, at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston. Born in Lewiston on June 9, 1933, he was the son of Albert and Irene Valliere Fecteau. Gerry grew up in New Auburn where he also attended Catholic schools.  He worked on many farms and in the textile mills prior to serving with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. Upon returning from the war, he married the former Geraldine T. Martin on June 30, 1955. He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years on June 6, 2014, 7 months prior to his own passing. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed his career as an electrician. Gerry retired from Bowdoin College after working his way up to becoming a Master Electrician, and just renewed his license at the age of 81. He also had a lifelong career in Co. C,133d Engr Bn, National Guard, and retired with full honors. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and while his family was growing up he enjoyed fishing, playing cards with friends and family, and had a life-long love of animals.  He was an avid NFL fan, but the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS were by far his favorite team, and he never missed a game. Most of all, Gerry loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is survived by loving and grateful children and their families, including six sons; Louis Fecteau and his wife Janey of North Carolina, Reggie Fecteau and wife Sue of Buckfield, Richard Fecteau and wife Debbie of Auburn, Steve Fecteau of Auburn, Andrew Fecteau and wife Sharon of Salem, and Anthony Fecteau of Auburn, his only daughter, Tina Webster and husband Robert of Leeds, a daughter-in-law, Jennifer Marston-Fecteau of Lewiston, a brother, Albert Fecteau and wife Teresa of Portland, two sisters, Lorrette Roberts of Lewiston and Lina Maxwell of Illinois, eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Beside his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Geraldine Fecteau, son Daniel Fecteau, and two sisters. 



Funeral Notice


FECTEAU, Gerard, 81, of Auburn, died in Lewiston on Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, 10 AM to 12 Noon, followed by a Liturgy of the Word service at 12 Noon. Interment, Gracelawn Memorial Park. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, Northern New England Region,1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Suite 300, Topsham, Maine 04086-1240.
