Janice Claire Harris, 1944 - 2017

Janice C. Harris, 73, passed away at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center, Lewiston, ME August 10, 2017 with her family by her side. She fought a courageous 3 year battle with ovarian cancer, Janice was born in Lewiston, ME, January 6, 1944, to her parents Annette (Berton) Baril and Arthur Baril. She attended Auburn schools. She married the love of her life Brian S. Harris on August 31, 1961. She worked as a waitress, bookkeeper and para-legal with Levey & Wessler, Winthrop. Jan and Brian moved to Winthrop in 1966 where they raised three children, She enjoyed gardening, making pottery,  cross stitch, lace angels and especially card making with her “Yahoo” friends. She and Brian enjoyed their annual trips to Kissimmee, FL. She loved and was loved by her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, Brian of Winthrop, ME; daughter Julie Harris and grandson Chrystian Harris of Trenton, ME; son Scott Harris and grandson, Chandler Harris of Monmouth, ME; granddaughter, Jaime Campbell-Lavallee of Idaho Falls, ID and their mother Neiley Harris of Portland, ME; son Steven and wife Althea Harris; grandsons Justin Harris and Trace Harris of China, ME; brothers Dean and wife Brenda Baril of Orlando, FL; Kim and wife Linda Baril of Barrington, NH and many nieces and nephews . She was predeceased by her parents; sister Constance Bell and brothers James Baril, Arthur Baril, Jr and Gary Baril. The family wishes to thank Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice; Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center; Hematology Oncology Associates; Central Maine Internal Medicine and Dana Farber Cancer Institute. 

Funeral Notice

HARRIS, Janice C., 73, of Winthrop, died in Lewiston, on Thursday, August 10, 2017. A graveside service will be held at Gracelawn Memorial Park, in Auburn, on Friday, August 18, at 11 AM, followed by A Celebration of Jan’s Life. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 970025, Boston, MA 02297-0025.
