Josiah O. Mann, 1925 - 2017

Josiah O. Mann, 92, of Leeds passed away on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 18, 2017, at home with  loving family members by his side. He was born in Paterson, NJ on April 12, 1925, the son of Josiah and Sophia Suffern Mann, brother to Christopher, John Robert, and Charles. He graduated from Ramsey High School, Class of ’43. He proudly served his country in the navy during World War II, and received the Purple Heart after his ship hit a mine in the English Channel. He was a member of the VFW as well as the American Legion. He worked for the New York State Mental Hygiene for 35 years and retired to Maine in 1980 and loved his “camp” in Androscoggin Lake in Leeds. Joe loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He is survived by his sons: Rodney Mann and wife Theresa, Martin Mann and wife Kathy, grandchildren Konrad (Amber), Lucas (Amy); great grandchildren: Noah, Lindsey, Ryan, Aoife, stepson John Appease and wife Orva. Devoted friends: Robert Bulow, Roland Lamontagne, Michelle, Debbie LaPerle and Cindy from Camden Banks. Dad loved Maine and his friends were a treasure to him. Many many thanks to Androscoggin Hospice, they are a godsend. Joe was predeceased by his significant other Jean, his favorite canine Pepper and his aforementioned brothers.

MANN, Josiah, 92, of Leeds, died in Leeds on Sunday, June 18, 2017. Services will be private. Donations may be made in his memory tot he charity of your choice.  Albert & Burpee Funeral Home.
