Kenneth Moore, 93, of Lewiston, died peacefully following a short bout with cancer on Friday, March 17, 2017, at the Marshwood Nursing Home in Lewiston. Born in Lewiston on July 4, 1923, he was the son of Marian K. Moore. He was educated in local schools, and was a graduate of Edward Little High School, Class of ’42. A veteran of Wold War II, he served in the U.S. Navy, and for 4 years saw duty in the Atlantic-European-Mediterranean Theaters of Operation. On October 4, 1950, he married Marie J. Filiault in Auburn. His wife passed away on February 2, 1992, and he was also predeceased by a daughter, Gloria A. Moore, who died on November 24, 1983. He is survived by a longtime companion of over 20 years, Ruth Drinkwater, of Auburn. Employed by Lewiston Trust Company in 1948, and later by Depositors Trust Company for 23 years,  he also worked in the Maintenance Department office of Bates College for 18 years prior to his retirement. He belonged to the Lewiston Lodge of Elks, VFW Post 9150, and was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Lewiston.

Funeral Notice


MOORE, Kenneth, 93, of Lewiston, died in Lewiston on Friday, March 17, 2017. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, 253 Pine Street, Lewiston, on Wednesday, from 1 - 3 PM, followed by a service at 3 PM. Interment in the Spring, Oak Hill Cemetery, Auburn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the The Church of the Transfiguration, 64 Elm Street, Mechanic Falls, ME, 04256.
