Laurette Duquette, 101, of 440 Minot Avenue, Auburn, died Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at the Clover Manor in Auburn. Born on June 8, 1915 in Manchester, NH,  she spent most of her younger years in Canada. On September 26, 1933, she married Lucien Duquette in Chartierville, P.Q., Canada. Mr. Duquette passed away on February 24, 1999.  In 1948, the Duquette family moved to the local area, where she became active in Holy Rosary Church and worked as a stitcher at Knapp Shoe until her retirement. She was a devoted wife and mother, and loved to quilt in her spare time. Survivors include four daughters, Dolores Rioux of Monmouth, Carmelle Lagasse of Lewiston, Monique Landry and husband Bert of Hartford, and Perette Lamontagne and husband Robert of Minot, a son, Jean Duquette and wife Gloria of Eustis, a sister, Florianne Deschene of Lisbon, twenty four grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by six brothers and sisters. 

Funeral Notice

DUQUETTE, Laurette, 101, of Auburn and formerly of Lewiston, died in Auburn on Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 PM. Services will be Saturday, 11 AM, in the Upper Church of the Ss. Peter & Paul Basilica. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery.
