Lorraine C. Parker, 82, of 176 Summer Street, Auburn, died Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at her home. Born in Auburn on October 14, 1932, she was the daughter of Dolor and Ida Fogg Gagnon. She was educated in local schools, and worked as a packer and supervisor in the shoe industry until her retirement at age 65. On May 7, 1965, she married Arthur P. Parker. Mr. Parker passed away on January 15, 2011. Lorraine was a colon cancer survivor, and facing the disease led her to cherish time spent with her family. She also enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Survivors include a daughter, Dolores Smith of Sanford, NC, daughter-in-law Robin Jacobsen of Auburn, two sisters, Lucille and husband Dean Wiers of Lewiston, and Edna Karnes of Houlton, five grandchildren; Dolor Smith Jr. and life partner Elizabeth Conway, Season Myers and husband Jim, Thomas Donaghy, Jamie Smith and significant other Sarah Hyde, and Alexis Smith, four great-grandchildren; Dolor Smith III and significant other Emily Banville, Noah Smith, Hayley Smith, and Dakota Myers, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and loving husband, she was predeceased by a son, Dolor Smith Sr. 

Funeral Notice

PARKER, Lorraine, 82, of Auburn, died in Auburn on January 7, 2015. A celebration of her life will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, from 6 - 8 PM.
