Madeline N. Veilleux, 89, of Lewiston, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the Montello Manor in Lewiston. Madeline was born in Livermore Falls on May 8, 1928, the daughter of Arthur and Blanche Cloutier Nadeau. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of ’46. Madeline graduated from the St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1949. She married Norman R. Veilleux in 1952, and shared 63 years of marriage together before his passing on March 8, 2015. She worked as registered nurse in the Lewiston area, including as a private duty nurse, at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, where she also served as a past president of the St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center Patronesses, and as camp nurse for Camp Fernwood in Poland on Thompson Lake. In her younger years, she enjoyed golfing and bowling. Survivors include one son, Pierre and wife Judy of Lewiston, one daughter Marie Murphy of Lewiston, a son-in-law Stanley Stromme of Ketchikan, AK, a sister, Arline Pelletier of Lewiston, four grand sons, Philip, Eric, and Jonathan Veilleux, and Kristopher Murphy and his companion Chelsea and her daughter Isabella, and a great-granddaughter, Katina Murphy. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her sister, Georgette Roberge, and her daughter, Rachel Stromme.

Funeral Notice 

VEILLEUX, Madeline, 89, of Lewiston, died in Lewiston on Wednesday, February 14, 2018. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, February 16, 3 - 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 11 AM, in the Lower Church of the Ss. Peter & Paul Basilica. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
