Mary L. Charpentier, 1932 - 2017

Mary L. Charpentier, 84, died Friday, June 30, 2017, at the Clover Living Center in Auburn, where she had been a resident since 2010. Born in Auburn on October 29, 1932, the daughter of Frederick and Mary Bilodeau Whirley Sr. Educated in local schools, Mary worked as a waitress in several area restaurants until her retirement due to disability in 1989. On November 16, 1979, she married Normand J. Charpentier, who passed away on November 12, 2011. A member of the former St. Patrick’s Parish, she was active in the Rosary Sodality, the VFW Auxiliary,  the American Legion Auxiliary, and was a proud member of the Red Hat Society. Survivors include five daughters, Jackie Bartlett of Lewiston, Pauline Gudas and husband David of Lewiston, Diane Conklin of Decatur, TX, Peggy Sue Auger and husband Lucien of Durham, NC, and Darlene LaBonte and husband Paul of Auburn, four sisters, Doris Webster of Brooksville, FL, and  Patricia Anderson, Peggy Whirley, and Joan Hebert, all of Auburn, a brother, Jerome Salvadalena and husband Dean of Auburn, two step-daughters, Gail Charpentier of Greene, and Norma Hamann and husband Leo of Lewiston, two step-sons, Ronald Charpentier of Lewiston, and Randall Charpentier and wife Diane of Greene, ten grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Georgette Cain, and five brothers; Thomas, Frederick Jr., Michael, Jack, and Patrick Whirley. The family would like to thank the staff of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, and the staff of the Clover Living Center Donegal and Dublin units, and a special thanks to the Clover Activity Team, especially Jim Parker, who held a special place in her heart.

Funeral Notice

CHARPENTIER, Mary, 84, of Auburn, died in Auburn on Friday, June 30, 2017. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM. Services will be Wednesday, 11 AM, at Sacred Heart Church, Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish. Interment, Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Clover Living Center Activity Fund, 440 Minot Avenue, Auburn, ME 04210.
