Normand D. Gagnon, 1933 - 2017

Normand Dorillas Gagnon, 84, US Army veteran, formerly of Pierce St., Lewiston, passed away Monday, September 4th, 2017, at the d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston.  He was most recently a resident of Woodlands Memory Care where he was considered one of the most enjoyable and engaging residents, standing out with his great sense of humor. He was born in Lewiston, January 25th, 1933, the son of Mathias and Blanche Longchamps Gagnon. Survivors include two brothers, Marcel and Gilbert, one sister Carmen Hebert, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Jean Paul, Florian, Gerald, Richard, Laurier, and a sister, Lucille. Normand was known to be a music enthusiast, enjoying all types of music including many Franco American artists. He had quite an abundance and variety in his collection. He was often seen with his walkman in hand.  He had worked locally at various shoe shops and local mills. Normand enjoyed boating in his earlier years.  He was a very active practicing Catholic and formerly belonged to Connected Catholics. He will be fondly remembered for his very gentle and considerate mannerism, ready-made smile, and devout faith. 

Funeral Notice

GAGNON, Normand, 84, of Lewiston, died in Lewiston on September 4, 2017. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday, 5 - 7 PM. Services will be Tuesday, 11 AM, in the Upper Church of the Ss. Peter & Paul Basilica. Interment, St. Peter’s Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the charity of your choice.
