Roger A. Cote, 86, of 100 Campus Avenue, Lewiston, formerly of 47 Winding Way, Lewiston, died Friday, October 17, 2014, at the Marshwood Nursing Home in Lewiston, where he had been a resident since this past April. Born in Lewiston on December 16, 1927, he was the son of Elisee and Alice (Veilleux) Cote. Educated in local schools, he joined the U.S. Marine Corp in 1948. He stayed in the Marine Corps for twenty years, and was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars, earning two Purple Hearts. In 1952 he married the former Gilberte Picard. After retiring from the Corps, he worked as a truck driver for Vincent Fruit Company, and then in the maintenance department of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center. Besides his loving wife of Lewiston, survivors include a brother, Bertrand Cote and wife Madeline of Greene, two sisters, Lucile and husband Leo Dick of Auburn, and Carmen Teixeira of Lisbon, and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by five brothers; Raymond, Leo, Roland, William, and Maurice. The family would like to thank the staff of Marshwood Nursing Home for all the loving care they gave Roger during his final illness.

COTE, Roger, 86, of Lewiston, died in Lewiston on October 17, 3014. At the request of the deceased, services will be private. Interment, Gracelawn Memorial Park. Donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, Maine Chapter, 383 U.S. Route 1, Suite 2C, Scarborough, ME 04074.
