Ronald P. Bonenfant, 80, a longtime resident of 426 East Avenue, Lewiston, died Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice in Auburn. Born in Keene, NH, on July 14, 1935, he was the son of Lionel O. and Josephine E. (Deslauriers) Bonenfant. His family moved to Lewiston and he graduated from St. Dominic High School, Class of ’53. He served in the U.S. Army, and on May 3, 1958, he married the love of his life, Marguerite Paradis. “Maggie” passed away on June 30, 2014. His first career was as a salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, he later owned and operated Ron’s Shell Service Station in Lewiston, and retired from Hall & Knight. He participated in his children's local sports as a coach and referee, and later in life he was the biggest fan in the bleachers supporting his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities.  His hobbies included being an avid “Golfeur”, he especially enjoyed playing with his four boys, and he was a self-taught photographer amassing nearly 10,000 images in his library of memories. Survivors include four sons, Gerard and wife Michele of Monmouth, Daniel and wife Barbara of Whitefield, Marc and wife Denise of Colorado Springs, CO, and Thomas of Portsmouth, NH, two daughters, Anne Marie and husband Michael Earle of Eddington, and Suzanne and husband Arthur Labbe of Auburn, thirteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and beloved wife, he was predeceased by a brother, Lionel, and a sister, Jacqueline Fontaine.

Funeral Notice

BONENFANT, Ronald P., 80, of Auburn and formerly of Lewiston, died in Auburn on Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 30, from 11:30 AM to 1 PM, followed by a Liturgy of the Word Service at 1 PM. Donations may be made in his memory to Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, Hospice House Fund, 15 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston, ME 04240.
