Russell Patten Burbank, born 6/6/31 in Detroit Michigan. Son of John C and Mildred Kitchen Burbank. He attended URI and graduated from Harvard University Extension School. He is survived by his wife Carol Mae Washburn, Lewiston, ME. He married Barbara Congdon deceased in 1982. He is survived by his four sons, John and wife, Heidi of York, ME and their daughter’s Erin and Morgan. David and Beth, Manchester, NH and their son’s Ian and Quinn. Thomas and Elizabeth of Madbury, NH and their children; Becky and husband Scott Martin, great grandchild Hugo, son Jake and his wife Sally. Steven from Boston, MA now living in Sunapee, NH. Daughter, Jean and husband Bruce Desmarais of Atkinson, NH and their children, Danielle and Alex. He was a reporter/editor for the Haverhill (MA) Gazette 53-65, Boston Globe 65-67, Mass Teacher Magazine 67-81. He also worked for the Mass. Dept. of Education in Public Relations. Russ won numerous awards for his work. He enjoyed reading, writing and traveling. He and Carol traveled to 49 states and 35 countries. Russ lived in Lewiston Maine for the last 12 years. 


Funeral Notice


BURBANK, Russell, 84, died on July 7, 2015. Memorial services to be held on Sat., July 18th at 2:00 PM, at Court Street Baptist Church, 129 Court Street, Auburn, ME. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Habitat for Humanity International, 121 Habitat Street, Americus, GA 31709-3498 in memory of Russell Burbank.
