Caron Obituary

Ruth D. Caron, 97, formerly of 62 McNamara Street, Lewiston, died peacefully Thursday, October 12, 2017, at the d’Youville Pavilion, where she had been a resident for past 7 months. Born in Lewiston on December 4, 1919, she was the daughter of Floyd and Olivette Martel Donnell. She attended Lewiston schools, graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of ‘37. Ruth worked as a winder in the local textile industry, and also worked as an Avon representative, Lewiston Sun Journal, and retired from WS Libbey Company in 1984.  On June 1, 1939, she married Donald Klemanski, who passed away on December 1, 1993. She married her second husband, Sylvio Caron, on July 3, 1988. He passed away on June 30, 2010. Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. In her younger years, Ruth was active in the Salvation Army’s League of Mercy, ran rummage sales and served as the rummage director of the local Salvation Army for many years. She enjoyed visiting the local nursing homes in her spare time to visit with residents. Survivors include five sons, Ret. Major Donald S. Klemanski, Jr, and wife Priscilla of Windham, Michael Klemanski, Sr, and companion Barbara Casper of Lewiston, Ret. Major Francis Klemanski, and wife Sherrie of Midway, KY, Lt. Colonel Guy Klemanski, and wife Henrie of Galena, OH, and Terrance Klemanski and wife Regina of Lewiston, and one daughter, Penny Letourneau, of Concord, NH, a cousin, Charles “Buzzy” Donnell, of Wakefield, MA, a niece, Patricia Donnell Hesse and husband Robert of Oxford, twenty three grandchildren, thirty two great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents and two husbands, she was predeceased by a brother, Charles Donnell, of Shalimar, FL, two sister - in - laws, Yvette Donnell and Juliette Dargie, and by a niece, Doris Dargie. 

Funeral Notice

CARON, Ruth, 97, of Lewiston, died Tuesday, October 12, 2017, at the d’Youville Pavilion in Lewiston. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, 12 - 2 PM, followed by services at 2 PM. Interment, Broadview Memorial Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice.
