Seymour Tetenman, 77, of Pompano Beach, FL, died Saturday, August 16, 2014, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice Services in Auburn, following a long illness. Born in Lewiston on July 11, 1937, he was the son of Abe and May Fisher Tetenman. Educated in Lynn, MA, he served in the U.S. Army, and was a graduate of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. He worked for many years as a salesman in the shoe industry, and travelled extensively to Europe, South America, Hong Kong and China for work. In later years, he became a licensed massage therapist. He especially liked working with AIDS patients, providing comfort to them. He loved visiting his family in Maine, and especially adored his nieces and nephews. Survivors include a sister, Bertha Bodenheimer of Auburn, a brother, Stanley Tetenman and wife Cathy of Poland, five nephews; David Allen and his wife Anne, Michael Allen and his wife Susan, Donald Allen and his flatmate Dianne Cote, Scott Tetenman and his partner Michael Kinara, Marc Tetenman and his wife Sarah Brino, two nieces; Cindy Allen,and  Linda Emmons and her husband Will, five great nephews; Joshua Allen and his wife Clara, Adam Allen, Jacob Allen, Jake Tetenman, Jeremy Tetenman, a great niece, Jessica Fumarola, two great-great nephews; Noah Soto and Chase Fumarola, a great-great niece, Betsy Tetenman, and a brother-in-law, Bob Allen. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Hospice House for all the wonderful, loving care they gave Seymour during his final illness. 


Funeral Notice


TETENMAN, Seymour, 77, of Florida, died in Auburn on August 16, 2014. Funeral services were held Sunday in the chapel of Beth Abraham Cemetery, Auburn. The family will be sitting Shiva beginning at 7 PM on Monday and Tuesday, at the home of David and Anne Allen, 1 Locksley Road, Auburn. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Temple Shalom Synagogue, 74 Bradman Street, Auburn, ME 04210, or to Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice Services, Hospice House Fund, 15 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston, ME 04240.
