Ricker Obit Pic

Mildred (Trudy) Ricker, 88, of Lewiston, died Friday, August 29th at the Androscoggin Hospice House surrounded by her family.

Trudy was born on May 11, 1926, the youngest daughter of A.H. and Mildred Chadbourne Johnson. She attended Lewiston Schools and graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of ’43. She was a former member of St. Patrick’s Parish, and volunteered for many years at the St. Vincent De Paul thrift shop.

On September 9, 1950 she married Bernard (Bud) Ricker. They made their home in Lewiston. Trudy worked for many years at the Lewiston Sun-Journal. She was a devoted wife and mother and an exceptional Nana. Trudy was also a loving aunt to her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially attending her grandsons’ sporting events. She was always on the sidelines cheering them on. Home and family were the most important things to Trudy. Her home was always open to family and friends and she was the heart and soul of all our family gatherings.

Trudy is survived by her husband Bud Ricker; her two daughters, Barbara and her partner, Maureen Hopkins of Windham, and Debora Cleveland and her husband, John Cleveland; her grandson Nathan Cleveland and his wife Kendra Engel of Stoughton, Massachusetts, and her grandson Benjamin Cleveland of Portland; sisters-in-law, Gerry Ricker of Lewiston and Helen Johnson of Auburn; and many nieces and nephews.

She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
